The Suffolk County Legislatures Deputy Presiding Officer Vivian Viloria-Fisher (D-Setauket) kicked off Earth Day festivities with the K through 5 students of Terryville Elementary School on Tuesday, April 20th. The 1:30 PM school assembly featured the Fifth District Legislator singing an earth-themed Merengue song that she wrote to promote green living. The Legislator, the daughter of the late Angel Viloria who emigrated from the Dominican Republic in the 1950s and was the first recording artist to popularize the Merengue here in the US, was joined by Assistant Superintendent Joseph Rella on the keyboard and students from the 4th and 5th Grade Chorus on stage as they highlight the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day.
